Linear Seach

Linear search is very simple. To check if an element is present in the given list we compare search element with every element in the list. If the number is found then success occurs otherwise the list doesn't contain the element we are searching.

Pseudo Code:
# Input: Array D, integer key
# Output: first index of key in D, or -1 if not found
For i = 0 to last index of D:
if D[i] equals key:
return i
return -1
Complexity:
Worst case time complexity – O(n)
Average case time complexity - O(n)
